Before you buy

Does it work on my phone or iPhone?

Not yet. Apple blocks browsers from talking to adapters. Use a Windows laptop, Mac or Chromebook with Chrome or Edge.

Which cars?

Any car or light truck sold in the US from 1996 on, gas or diesel, for the check-engine light.

Which adapter?

A USB ELM327 OBD adapter works on any Windows laptop. Bluetooth Low Energy adapters connect straight from Chrome; older Bluetooth adapters pair in Windows first.

Can clearing codes hurt my car?

No, but it doesn't fix anything, and the car may fail an emissions test until it's driven a few days. If the problem is real, the code comes back.

Does it change anything on my car?

No. Zilla Scan only reads. The one thing it can do is clear codes, with the engine off and after you confirm.
