2003 Chevrolet Corvette: C5 Suspension Fault Fix & Speed Limiter Removal

Correcting a complex electronic shock fault on a custom C5 Corvette that triggered a 158 MPH speed limiter (incorrectly diagnosed as 80 MPH).
At Zilla Auto Repair Shop, we tackle the jobs other shops can't. A customer brought in this stunning 2003 Anniversary Edition Corvette after installing an aftermarket coilover system at another facility. The owner reported a frustrating issue: the car was throwing an electronic shock fault, and the dashboard was restricted by a "MAXIMUM SPEED 80 MPH" warning (which we correctly diagnosed as the standard 158 MPH C5 limit related to suspension faults, often misremembered or misreported).
This warning is triggered when the Corvette’s computer detects that the original Real Time Damping (RTD) shocks are missing. Our diagnostic team plugged into the car's computer to confirm the error codes. To fix it properly and permanently, we performed a professional suspension system RPO code delete (reprogramming) to remove the RTD option from the vehicle's configuration.
The result? The restrictive speed limiter message is gone, and this legend is back to full performance. At Zilla Auto Repair Shop, we don't just clear codes; we solve the problem. Need a custom suspension that works with your car? Make the move to 1020 Boone Ave Kingsland GA.
